11月04日：We are running on two shifts.我们的工作是两班倒。

：n. 移动，转移；变化；轮班  v. 转移，转变，替换
例如：Peter is on the day shift and I am on the night shift.（彼得上白班，我上夜班。）
          One of the difficulties attendant on shift work is lack of sleep.（轮班工作制带来的困难之一是睡眠不足。）

11月05日：Will you connect this wire to the television?你把这根电线和电视机连上好吗？

t sth. to sth.：把某物和某物连上
例如：Connect these wires to the leads of the battery.（将这些导线接到电池的引线上。）
          Connect the hose to the tap and turn on the water.（把水管接到龙头上，再把水打开。）

11月06日：Come on, satisfy my curiosity, what happened last night?拜托，满足我的好奇心吧，昨晚到底发生了什么？

1.satisfy：v. 使满意，是满足，满足
例如：We make every endeavor to satisfy our customers.（我们尽全力使顾客满意。）
          We must try to satisfy the needs of the multitude.（我们一定要设法满足广大民众的要求。）

11月07日：He tried to impress me with his extensive knowledge of wine.他试图通过自己在葡萄酒方面的渊博知识来打动我。

1.impress：v. 给某人深刻印象，使铭记
例如：He did not impress me at all.（他没有给我留下丝毫印象。）
          He impress his audience by the profundity of his knowledge.（他知识渊博给听众留下了深刻的印象。）

11月08日：The dress doesn't fit her. She is too thin.这件衣服不适合她，她太瘦了。

：v. 合身，适合于，安装，使适应
例如：All the facts certainly fit your theory.（所有的事实都和你的说法相符。）
          Production of the goods must fit in with the needs of the society.（商品生产必须符合社会需要。） 

11月09日：Look at that purple and orange car! There's no accounting for taste.快看那辆紫色橙色相间的轿车！喜好因人而异啊。

1.There's no accounting for taste.：人可有所好，萝卜白菜各有所爱。
例如：You may not agree with what she wears; there's no accounting for taste.（你也许不赞同她的穿著，但是人各有所好。）
          There's no accounting for taste, as the woman say when somebody tell her her son is want by the police.（正如一个被通知说她的儿子被警方通缉的妇人之言，人各有所好嘛。）

11月10日：They plan to immigrate to Finland next year.他们计划明年移居芬兰。

ate：使移居入境，移入
例如：Tom immigrate into the unite state.（汤姆移居美国。）
           It' hard to say if her daughter should immigrate into Italy.（很难说她的女儿是否应该移居意大利。）
