03月11日：She was so involved in her career, she had no time for fun.她总是忙于工作，根本没时间享乐。        

involved in：涉及，专心；参与；忙于
例如： He was involved in writing his doctoral dissertation.（他在聚精会神地写他的博士论文。）
           How many of the children are involved in preparing for the party? （孩子中有多少人参加晚会的筹备工作？）

03月12日：The accident had left him with a slight limp.那场事故让他变得有点瘸。      

：v. 离开；遗忘；留给；剩下；动身
例如：He leave his job and buy a farm.（他辞去了工作并买了一个农场。）
          I leave that to you.（这都留给你啦。）

03月13日：He has run away and landed in the mire.他逃开，却开到泥坑里去了。       

in：使处于，使陷入（困境等），登陆
例如：Our party landed in England without incident.（我们一行安抵伦敦。）
          They are believed to have landed in America.（人们相信他们在美洲登上了大陆。）

03月14日：He is on the telephone but he'll be with you in a moment.他在打电话，过会儿就可以见你。        

a moment：一会儿，不久，立即，马上
例如：In a moment he would be gone from view.（再过片刻他就会从视野里消失。）
        That is not achieved in a moment.（这不是一朝一夕能达到的。）

03月15日：The dentist extracted one of my teeth.牙医拔了我一颗牙。          

t：v. 摘录，摘抄；提取；吸取
例如：Language teachers often extract examples from grammar books.（语言教师常从语法书里摘录例句。）
          We can extract oil from olive.（我们可自橄榄中榨油。）

03月16日：She was in the doldrums for the whole day.她整天都无精打采。         

the doldrums：意气消沉，无精打彩
例如：He' s been in the doldrums ever since she left him.（自从她离开他以来，他一直很消沉。）
          My brother has been in the doldrums since he failed to get on the swimming team.（我兄弟自打没能进入游泳队以来一直精神萎靡不振。）

02月17日：I felt no compassion towards her.我对她没有同情。        

sion：n. 同情，怜悯
例如：The nurse had great compassion for her patients.（那位护士十分同情她的病人。）
          The queen showed great compassion for her people.（女王对她的臣民很仁慈。）
